An Evening Walk

October Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Site or Sight”

Walking to ward off the blues.

I’ve had a lot of nervous energy the past week and a half, and thankfully the weather is finally nice enough to allow me to get out and breathe in some fresh air. Sitting too still and letting the quiet surround me is too much right now. Besides, I’ve cleaned and organized more in the past week than I have all year so it was time to put on my walking shoes and set out for a stroll. No audiobook, no podcast, or music, just me and the sights and sounds of nature. Just the way I like it.

As soon as I turned the corner off my street, the sight of these orange clouds and the street light in the bottom center took my breath away. It felt like a gentle reminder that there’s beauty all around us. We just have to pay attention and get out of our own heads sometimes.

Thank you Mary Chang Story Writer, Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, and Sandi Parsons for the SWPSC publication and keeping me inspired.
