An Essence That Ripples Into the Universe
The profound gift of unconditional love
Without limitations, without conditions, unconditional love can teach us a lot. The more I have pushed myself outside of my comfort zone in all my relationships the more I have come to understand unconditional love.
I always return to the book by OSHO Living Dangerously as I love how he speaks of love being about relating rather than forming a relationship- which he explains is final and oftentimes fraught with a lot of conditions.
How can we ever put these final barriers up around love? I’ve never been able to make much sense of it.
It feels like when we are in love all we want to do is hold onto and cement down the relationship. In my experience, it has always made things more difficult though when the conditions we place on love begin to pile up sky high.
The more flexibility and understanding I have had within my relationships the more I believe they possess the essence of unconditional love.
I like the idea that loving someone unconditionally requires effort and constant work in the realm of relating. When one or both parties no longer enjoy this process they should set one another free.
This can be painful, sad, and upsetting but the last thing I ever want to do is hold someone back from their journey. It often is more painful to hold onto something that isn’t right too, than to release it.
I believe this to be true of all sorts of relationships too. From lovers, friends, partners, and family.
This is how I see unconditional love being translated into practical terms and of course, it is harder done than said but I believe this is the key to unconditional love.
“Love her but leave her wild.” ― Atticus
Another part of unconditional love is first nourishing ourselves. If we rely on others to supply our nutrients we are willingly handing our power over and putting all the pressure on someone else to fulfill our needs. I believe it first starts with taking care of ourselves- after all, no one knows you better than you.
It has been hard to sit with myself for the last week or so. I have had bad back pain and haven’t been able to be my busy physical self. I have been working on having more unconditional love for myself though because I know this is how I am healing.
Unconditional love heals, it spreads love with the most potent power.
Unconditional love is the tonic to heal ourselves and to heal the world.
Unconditional love is giving and receiving love with grace. It is being the most vulnerable we can be with ourselves and those around us.
Unconditional love to me is more of an essence.
Its ripples can be felt right across the universe and all of humanity.
It is the inspiration behind altruistic acts and the insight into the interconnectedness of humanity.
The more I incorporate unconditional love into my life, the more I feel free to be truly open and vulnerable.
Unconditional love to me is the essence of wanting the best for everyone. It is listening to your heart first whilst compassionately encouraging others to do the same too.
So much of what we’re taught about love though is based on conditional love. For me- I am constantly striving to love myself and those around me unconditionally.
Perhaps because we are so conditioned in society, it is normal to love with strict conditions.
Unconditional love takes courage and a deeper purpose to embrace. It takes bold wisdom to love and allow freedom. It takes a rebellious streak to love wildly and to give freely.
To love unconditionally is to receive openly and to give openly. Without expectations or conditions. To embrace and love the humanness of ourselves and those around us.
Unconditional love to me is an essence that ripples into the universe. I hope to embrace and embody this essence more. I want to melt into the compassionate river of love and flow with the currents.
I want to love unconditionally and be loved unconditionally.
