One word —

Wow!

After all the Halloween horror night events and scary maze experiences, I enjoyed this peaceful night walk under the stars.

Let’s start by introducing this event.

Astra Lumina is revisiting Los Angeles, offering a magical evening stroll at the South Coast Botanic Garden.

This enchanting experience invites guests to explore the fascinating celestial bodies, guiding us through mystical surroundings with radiant and cosmic lights, cosmic views, and celestial & relaxing melodies.

Crafted by the innovative team at Moment Factory, Astra Lumina Los Angeles is apparently the 17th installment in the Lumina Night Walk series, which I didn’t know until I read about it here.

First, we started by getting in line for the main parking, but we learned very quickly that it was only for people who paid extra for a parking pass when they were getting their tickets online.

We weren’t aware, so they directed us to the other parking, which was a 5-minute drive away from the event site. From there, we waited in line for a shuttle and got to the event site in around 15 to 20 minutes, including the parking and wait time.

For those who are planning to attend the event, please pay extra to park on-site. It was $10 for parking off-site and taking the shuttle, while it’s $25 to park on-site, and it’s worth not losing time waiting for the shuttle if you can afford it.

This experience at Astra Lumina was an enchanting, mystical, and magical night stroll under the stars.

The path of the night walk was like a short hike, 30 to 50 minutes. It wasn’t a difficult hike, and in fact, there were older people and people who walked with the assistance of mobility devices, who enjoyed this experience very much.

What this means is that if you felt like “hike” is a strong word while reading this, it’s not that crazy, and you can definitely do it!

The path has many surprises on the way such as celestial-looking rods where colorful lights shine with the beat of a relaxing, sci-fi-ish melody.

There are gardens decorated with lights that blink and provide a light show in sync with the melody.

Each part of the hike with a celestial event or a light show has a different vibe with a distinct melody, but overall, each stop provides a relaxing, magical moment of peace.

At the end of the path is a place where people get in line to take photos with the large Astra Lumina logo and decorations.

We had a funny moment when I asked the three girls behind us to take our photo. Mind you, we were three girlfriends as well.

The girl I was addressing pointed at her other friend and said, “That’s her in our group,” so I gave my phone to who she pointed at.

After taking our photos, they kindly asked me to take theirs. In a playful turn, I pointed at my cinematographer friend and said, “That’s her in our group,” and we all shared a laugh at the synchronicity.”
