An Efflorescence of Languor
A homage
It’s no scintilla,
this propinquity suddenly
burgeoning
for a satiny, furry silkie
pecking its feed in a furtive yet
demure manner
in an ethereal bucolic backyard
while peeking out from
beneath a chatoyant-like inquisitive
eye
stirring within me an efflorescence
of languor
long expanded by the inglenook
Poem inspired by a friend’s acquisition of silkie chickens and IdeaStream 11th April; with thanks to Xavier Van Holde for the words.
