An Editor’s Daily Retort — Morning Papers III

’Tis no eager pity, as this piece is worth the cramps, headaches, and sudden outbursts!

Waldmann Edwin Landseer

One forgets how much clutter one stacks upon the typewriter, only realizing how much only when it comes time today to write the first character; and write the first Manuscript well!

’Tis no eager pity, as this piece is worth the cramps, headaches, sudden outbursts, and contractions in the world — ah! Hark the life of a Writer dissolved!

So unleash the bad omens, unfurl the sleepy brows, and slam upon the table the dirty old brown-hob boots that make me transverse to and fro. Let me in, and have some golden tea of the dales, and may I begin.

Only yesterday I was inquiring about becoming an Editor for the ILLUMINATION Writer’s paradigm and hark the hark, when I awoke this morning and found myself the editor of a number of them — so this is to you, to anyone’s stories I have botched or ill-favorably altered to your disgrace and dismay, and this is also a note to anyone’s stories I have blissfully curated and sent forwards to the wider whole awaiting, hungrily to sap and lunch down your words!

Ah! ’Tis my daily retort — but all jests aside — as I was once known as a serial prankster, though planker may be the better sobriquet in this instance—it does warm and intrigue my heart and anima to perk my observing eyes upon so many newly fangled and awaiting pieces; truly, if you ever get the chance to see behind the walls of the editor’s— publisher’s office, please do so! It reveals so much, giving you a new perspective on things previously unbeknownst to you and, I’m dearly hoping as well, intrigue curiosity out of your human, bodily seems!

When the time comes a-chugging and a-strolling over to my sides, I am so delighted to read the works entrusted to me by The Fine Rabble — [Our fine, little writer’s group, formed from Medium writers — you know who you are!] — or in fact, any piece written by a firm Friend, you know also, who you are!

Now, back to the Manuscript that is seriously unfolding before me now — Ah, luv a good mystery to be resolved by my loving grasp.

To this Manuscript and journey so far — Loving the work done by and made, in a process akin to the age of the story to be portrayed.

But as my once aunty said to me — settle Reet down, I shall… Friends dear! friends delight, all of you reading, and even you, one day may be reading this back — far-flung in the future from this moment — you, my undisclosed munchkin — so tall!

But I shall close this thread before it becomes unhinged beyond all Recall that swings the river Rhein to the River Yare to the Hudson!

Ah, ya’know! It is such a delight to unfold, or even enfold these thoughts — as I can reference things no one else has even the slightest, fish in a chance to uncover and know what I mean…

’Tis over now!

Ta-ta Now! — May the day bring fruit not as sour or disappointing as this!
