An Anniversary Puppy

A dog changes everything

“We lost two clients since you started working here, Kyle!” Landon shouted.

“I’m sorry, sir!”

“Find a way to get them back, or you’ll be fired!”

This was only the first month of Kyle’s job. To stop himself from crying, he looked at a wedding picture of Kailey. He smiled just thinking about her. Tonight, they would be celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary.

Five minutes before the end of Kyle’s shift, his phone dinged with a text message from Kailey. She sent a picture of a golden retriever in a tuxedo with a sign that said, “Happy Anniversary! Love, Kailey and Kodey!”

Kyle always imagined coming home from work and cuddling with his wife and dog someday. Thoughts like that helped him get through the hardest days. And now, his fantasy would become reality.
