An A to Z of Me and Books
Answering an alphabetical list of book questions

saw this over at Ashey’s blog and decided to give it a try. It’s a nice post to work on on a Sunday afternoon when you want to have something to publish Monday morning.
Author You’ve Read the Most Books From
This one is easy. I’ve been reading Stephen King since I was a kid and I still get his newest books for Christmas each year. My favorite author by far.
Best Sequel
I liked The Sicilian by Mario Puzo more than The Godfather and I loved The Godfather.
Currently Reading
Sparring Partners by John Grisham. It is three stories. The first one goes back to Jake Brigance and Ford County.
Drink Choice While Reading
Coffee. Coffee is my drink of choice most times.
E reader or physical book
Physical book, but if I am flying somewhere for an extended trip I will use e-books to make packing easier.
Fictional character you probably would have dated in high school
Why would a fictional character be more likely to date me than the real girls in high school? I probably would have had a crush on various characters from the YA romance genre.
Glad You Gave this Book a Chance
The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner. I thought it was a fantasy book from the title and never considered reading it. It is now one of my favorite books.
Hidden Gem
Wonder Rush by Dan McKeon. I got it from NetGalley and loved it.
Important Moment in Your Reading Life
The day I decided I didn’t have to finish every book I started. Why spend time reading books you don’t like?
Just Finished
My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix
Kind of Books I Won’t Read
I would never say never to any specific genre.
Longest Book You’ve Read
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet I think.
Major Book Hangover Because Of
The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner. I connected too much to the characters it was hard to move on to the next book.
Number of Cases You Own
3
One Book You’ve Read Multiple Times
I usually don’t read books more than once. I accidentally read Practical Demonkeeping by Christopher Moore twice.
Preferred Place to Read
On my deck when the weather is nice. Or on a beach, because it means I’m on vacation.
Quote That Inspires You, or Gives You All the Feels, From a Book You’ve Read
I think this was from a book — Our deeds are our monuments.
Reading Regret
All the time I spent slogging through books I didn’t like because I felt I had to finish everything I started.
Series You Started and Need to Finish
Between Earth and Sky by Rebecca Roanhorse. I’ve had the second book from the library twice now and never got to it.
Three of Your All Time Favorite Books
- Swan Song by Robert McCammon
- The Stand by Stephen King
- Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
Unapologetic Fanperson For
Christopher Moore. Good author. Good person.
Very Excited For This Release (More than all the others)
Since I left the library world I am woefully uninformed on upcoming releases.
Worst Bookish Habit
Reading books by familiar authors and not branching out to try new things.
X Marks the Spot — start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book
Every Last Drop by Charlie Huston. It is part of his vampire detective series. He’s a very good author not enough people read.
Your Latest Book Purchase
I don’t buy books. The last book I got as a gift was Billy Summers by Stephen King.
Zzz-Snatcher Book (the last book that kept you up late)
I don’t think anything can keep me up late anymore, but The 22 Murders of Madison May by Max Barry came close.
I would love to see more people play along. Comment here if you would like to be added as a writer and publish it on Reading is a Novel Idea.
