America Hit Rock Bottom With the Number of Covid-19 Infections

Many states across the country are reporting new cases

Every time I tune in to hear the latest coverage on the Covid-19 pandemic, all I hear is that the number of infections keeps rising. And so is the number of people dying from Covid-19.

According to statistics, more than 1,000 people are dying from Covid-19 infections in America today. These numbers are sobering. Of all the states where infections are on the rise, the states of Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Wisconsin show the highest number of deaths.

What do these numbers mean?

We are not handling the virus as we should. We failed to curb the spread and now the virus is spiraling out of control. We have reached a peak.

If the number of cases continues to rise at the current speed, we may face more national lockdowns. This can have a huge economic impact on the country as a whole. People would again have to rely on the government for financial support. The country will sink into a severe economic recession.

As Jennifer Nuzzo, a public health researcher and senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security said: “It’s getting worse, and it’s potentially going to get a lot worse.” As we head towards the winter months, we will expect the numbers to increase.

People should take it seriously

So many people still don’t get the severity of the situation. If everyone paid more attention and took it seriously, we wouldn’t ve been in the situation we are right now.

If people don’t act now and take the necessary precautions, then later we’ll have to suffer the consequences of another lockdown. Do we want that? No one does. Some states, such as Oregon and Virginia, have already implemented restrictions, such as closing GYM’s, restaurants, and bars.

Those people who don’t take this pandemic seriously think that the news is overexaggerating and blowing it out of proportion. But the truth is, the numbers are real. People keep getting sick. People are dying, in large numbers. Everyone needs to take this seriously.

It is advised that the best thing anyone can do right now is to stay home. Limit activities other than essentials like shopping and outdoor walking and exercise.

Being in the situation we’re in right now, people should avoid public places at all costs. At this point, it’s better just to stay home and find things to do. Anyone can find something interesting. We have TV’s, computers, tablets, books, board games, etc.

Also, as we’re approaching the Thanksgiving holiday, people should rethink their plans for travel and avoid crowds and gatherings. It would be wise to stay close to home and celebrate with your close family members.

And although it’s become a cliche by now, it’s worth saying it again — wear masks and practice social distancing.
