Ambition and Passion
Chemical and electrical
The difference between ambition and passion is that ambition is fed by ego and passion is fed by unconditional love energy.
Ambitions are always laden with conditions. Goals are nothing but conditions that one places on their life. Ambitions are about hierarchy. Attainments of desired levels of hierarchy/social status only further entrain you to the hierarchical structure, and they are always dependent on a dualistic energy exchange within that structure.
A star cannot be a star without fans. A government official cannot be so without the backing of their constituency. A writer cannot reach the pinnacle of their field without readers. Wealth involves an energy exchange with others. Ambition of wealth is the ego craving that energy exchange. Egos need constant validation and energy in the form of chemical releases in the body and mind. The desire for power is what the ambition of wealth comes down to because in the old paradigm wealth is what determines hierarchy. Since egos work off of chemical releases in the body, they use emotions to maintain a steady stream of chemical releases going. An ambition is the ego’s way of saying how much energy they want/need. The more ambition is fed by ego, the more energy is going to have to be sucked in from other people to complement the duality. Another thing about ambition is that it forever puts us in the future, which, of course, takes us out of the NOW.
Passion happens only in the NOW. The ego cannot fully connect with passion because ego is chemical and passion is electrical. With passion, there is an unlimited supply of energy so emotions and mind-games are not necessary to get charges. When doing something out of passion, there are no thoughts of to what hierarchical level it takes us. We are doing it strictly for the feelings and energy derived from doing it in the NOW. We are doing it because doing it keeps that energy flowing. As soon as we start putting conditions on our passion, those passions start turning into ambitions.
Passion is how we express unconditional love. Passion can be felt picking cotton, washing dishes, playing the violin, telling a story, painting a landscape, making pottery, gardening, singing, dancing, helping other people, and a myriad other ways. But it can only be felt in the NOW. And one can only feel it, not think it. When we feel passion flowing through us, we know that we are in the NOW and we know that we are unconditionally creating our reality with an unlimited supply of energy.
