Amber Light
As she gently glides away
In the night when all is quiet And dreams have me in their sway I walk into another world A million miles away.
The amber light is pure delight Ice glistens in the sun And underneath in pure relief Fleet fish are on the run.
A body trapped beneath the ice Like an insect locked in clear amber Magnified beyond its size I draw closer for a gander.
Specks of microscopic blood And legs thrown asunder A look of peril on her face As black as midnight thunder.
Then I watch her slowly move And merge in a metamorphic way Her legs turn to a tail As she gently glides away.
Her hair is fair her cheeks are red As she washes past my dream Her curves put nerves beneath my skin Her breath is summer steam.
As I awake I feel a shake And a voice I’ve heard before Yes you guessed my dream was blessed Please play one more encore.
