WRITING PROMPT
Amare Myself and Others Too
A writing challenge from Joe Luca

Amare myself they say I must, For I may never share, Someone else's love and trust, Another person willing to care, If I don’t love myself.
Provare affetto or giving love, To others I must try, But I’ll need guidance from above, Devine providence from on high, To learn to love myself.
I’ve never been one to just love me, I’ve thought of me so harsh, So my love of others had no guarantee, Upon shores of misery they often washed, And I was left alone.
Learning to love oneself is hard, There’s often no forgiving, I give myself no warm regard, And wonder how I am still living, As cold as I’ve become.
One day soon I hope to learn, To love myself as others, Amare myself and in return, Fill the world with lovers, A world of peaceful Humans.
Thank you so much for reading. You didn’t have to, but I’m certainly glad you did.
