Always Important
A poem of hope for survivors of domestic abuse

Delicate and broken fragile and forgotten never less important
Numb to pain filled with shame taking on the blame never less important
Beauty in question driven by depression no room for expression never less important
Powered by force love as the source feelings worse never less important
Controlled every day no room to stray or to have a say never less important
Often intimidated feeling hated and deflated never less important
Wings to fly away unable to try crying but staying never less important
Until —strength returns power fills from within hope shines to mend always important
