Summary

The website content reflects on the dichotomy of human emotions and behaviors in solitude versus in society, emphasizing the internal struggle and the neglect of one's true feelings.

Abstract

The text delves into the contrast between the suffering experienced in solitude and the pride displayed in the presence of others. It suggests that while individuals may put on a facade of happiness and success, they often grapple with hidden distresses that accumulate internally. The narrative touches on the idea that people may abandon their true emotions and disown their vulnerabilities, questioning whether they can support their less confident selves during times of hardship. The poem hints at the societal pressure to maintain a certain image, which can lead to a disconnection from one's authentic self.

Opinions

  • The author implies that societal norms encourage individuals to suppress their true feelings and project an image of confidence and success.
  • There is a sense of internal conflict as people navigate between public personas and private struggles.

We Suffer

Alone we suffer In crowds, we’re proud When they ponder We are higher In anguish, we linger

Being sad, we hide Feeling pride, out we are Our smiles are to share Our distresses are packed Innermost they mount

In shape, we play In shame, we can’t but shake Our virtues climb We are left behind Since inside, we only crawl

In this aching sadness We discard our heart Disowning our feelings Can we stand by them on that gurney If we won’t stand for our lesser self in that journey
