POETRY
Ally
Why am I doing this alone?

I awake with a pang in my chest. A sinking feeling that refuses to relent. There’s a truth within that my mind keeps trying to force my heart to accept Maybe it’s the other way round?
My entire being, in full rebellion with itself. Moments of hope flushed out By the moments of fear and doubt And uncertainty that quickly ensue.
I’m afraid the battle is already lost. A battle I keep having to fight alone, Because you refuse to be my ally In this war, you’ve caused within my soul.
