‘All Lives Matter’ is a Stupid Statement
And it undermines the BLM movement

Context is everything. Without it, football is just a bunch of people running around to kick a ball whilst a larger group of people yells at them excitedly.
To say that ‘All Lives Matter’ is like saying ‘the sky is blue’ on a clear, sunny day. It’s an objective fact that others can see for themselves and there’s no real need to say it out loud.
But if you’re in the midst of a storm with heavy rain and thunder, saying that the sky was blue on sunny days is irrelevant and doesn’t help mitigate the ongoing danger at all.
So please remember the context. All lives do matter, of course. However, when the lives of a group of people are under threat — and have been for centuries — due to unjust societal structures and blatant hatred, it takes only an ounce of basic sense to know where the focus needs to be.
