All lives don’t matter!
This shouldn’t at all be controversial but if you need some convincing here you go.

- Of course, all life is precious but the issue isn’t violence against all lives. It is police brutality against African American people in the United States. It is statistically proven that black people are disproportionally abused by police in the United States. According to mappingpoliceviolence.org “Black people are most likely to be killed by police” and “3x more likely to be killed by police than white people”. While you may not want to consider this as a race issue, it is very clearly a race issue.
- All lives aren’t in danger. You could use the analogy, when a fire department is rushing towards a local house that’s on fire you wouldn’t go up to the fireman and say, “What about my house, my house matters, too”. That would be ignorant. While yes your house does have the possibility of catching on fire, it is not on fire. Therefore there is no reason to bring attention to a non-issue. Actually bringing up your house diminishes the real issue of the house that’s on fire. You saying “all lives matter” diminishes the reality of the real issue, that is why people get so upset.
- All lives actually don’t matter. Hear me out here. I do believe there are people alive that would be better, not alive. I’m not a judge but people like mass murderers or child rapists probably have lost their right to live. Obviously it’s not my call and but I do think most people would agree their life choices have proven them unworthy of being alive. For example, Hitler. Of coarse he mattered because he made a lasting impact on the world but in terms of living I would believe it’s safe to say most people would rather his life not have been significant, because the very meaning of his life was to hurt others and that is a life that shouldn’t belong in today’s world. In other words, his life shouldn’t have mattered.
- If you are a Christian (I’m not) God has made it very clear that evil should be terminated. In the story of Noah’s Ark, God himself floods the earth killing millions of evil people. To begin a new, better generation of humans. Even God is aware that not everyone deserves the blessing that is life. Historically humans take advantage of the gifts God has blessed them with and use it to make others suffer. So no, all lives don’t matter. I believe that includes racist people.
- Finally, all lives matter represents the overlooking, or ignoring of racism and inequality. For those of you who don’t know, it is not enough to not be racist. You have to be anti-racism! Being neutral isn’t always the answer. There were white people during the civil rights movement that stayed indifferent about the issue to avoid controversy. Though they may not have been racist themselves they didn’t stand up to racism. That is the issue. If you aren’t a part of the solution you are contributing to the issue itself. That is what all lives matter is supporting, therefore, all lives matter is supporting the issue.
I am aware many people do not support the black lives matter movement. Honestly, I understand that. I know their methods as a political group are controversial and not always the correct way of effectively creating change. I’m not here to tell you that you have to agree with the movement. I am saying that you, as an individual have to agree with the statement that black lives do matter, and agree that there is an issue in America. Whether your a Conservative or Democrat I think everyone should be able to agree upon that.
