All Diseases originate from the mouth! “Oil Pulling” helps you out — Ayurveda

First, imagine that your mouth is a washing machine, and the oil is laundry detergent. After 15–20 minutes of marathon gargling and spitting, your mouth will become clean. And that is the basic concept of “Oil pulling.”

The oil pulling method originated from the Indian traditional medicine — Ayurveda. As the name implies, using oil to “pull” bacteria and toxins out of the mouth, also helps to whiten teeth, reduce bacteria in the mouth, and reduce the chance of inflammation. It can also improve nearly 30 chronic diseases, ranging from bad breath to serious conditions such as diabetes and back pain. Oil pulling was first introduced to the United States in the early 1990s by a doctor named Dr. F. Karach, and has been used by naturopaths in recent years.

Rinsing with water on weekdays can clean the mouth, then gargling with oil is a deeper cleaning, and the characteristics of the oil can make it easier for oral bacteria to be brought out. The oil is highly adhesive and can more adequately surround the teeth, gums, and mucous membranes. In addition, the bacteria are lipophilic. The bacteria in the mouth will be tightly attached to the oil during oil pulling. After spitting out the oil, the bacteria can be excreted from the body, thereby improving oral hygiene, and at the same time, it has the effect of detoxification and health care.

Traditionally, organic cold-pressed sesame oil is generally used for oil pulling, but if you want to improve your oral hygiene, especially if you want to improve your dental problems, it is recommended that you use organic cold-pressed coconut oil. Coconut oil has many functions and has antibacterial effects. It can enhance the efficacy of oil pulling, such as treating bleeding gums, preventing tooth loss, and eliminating bad breath. It is also an effective method for whitening teeth.

Steps of oil pulling The steps of oil pulling are simple, but you must be persistent and remember to do it every morning before brushing your teeth, rinsing your mouth, and drinking water. The steps are as follows:

Step 1: Apply 1–2 teaspoons coconut oil to every corner of your mouth, including under the tongue.

Step 2: Put it in your mouth for 15–20 minutes, do not swallow the oil. When the oil mixes with the saliva, it becomes thick and milky and should be milky when spitting out, which means the bacteria have fused with the oil.

Step 3: Spit out the oil, rinse your mouth with salt water, and brush your teeth with toothpaste as usual. Drink plenty of water after oil pulling to help detoxify.

Are there any side effects? Some people have reactions such as toothache, headache, stomach pain and even fever a few days after oil extraction. These are not side effects but reaction to the detoxification process; these problems will improve as the toxins are excreted.

It is necessary to choose cold-pressed virgin oil, organic oil is better, to ensure that the oil does not contain other impurities. And don’t swallow the oil, because the oil after oil pulling has absorbed a lot of bacteria, which is harmful to the body.
