All Change

An Illumination Challenge response to Timothy Key and then something strange happened…

Oh if only I had not gone out and Purposely changed my life! Inviting all that worry and uncertainty. Will it work out? I may end up much worse off, mentally, spiritually and financially! What on earth was I thinking?

I want to be in a band who take Music more seriously! London was calling…

To leave a place where my mark was made, Assuredness, no worries at all But no, I had to go and push that one, The roots were not set deep.

From my own house to a small room With a dysfunctional family, From a job with good money To an agency with little pay And no job security at all, it’s an agency.

The job was coming to an end The police had raided the house What the feck have I done?

AND THEN SOMETHING STRANGE HAPPENED

One day travelling home from work On a different route this day, I bumped into An old friend of my brothers, literally on the Turn of a high street corner. After a chat and seeing his band He gave me a number; “Here try this if you have work no more.”

So started my time working on rock and roll stages In good ole London town, Then with this, as things go, Followed a place to stay.

A television show I loved to watch back in the day, T.F.I. Friday Was now mine to work on! Which in turn Got me started in the big wide World of touring. Touring the World with bands as their drum tech, A great job, now with great pay.

My opportunities found me able to afford a holiday again! With friends, Thailand was my port of call And in love I fell again, with beaches and culture. Time after time I kept returning to This land of wonder, Until one season I felt now is the time To explore someplace anew.

A job fell through what shall I do now?

AND THEN A STRANGE THING HAPPENED

A more than friendly friend called up, So packed me bag and off I left Back to exotic Siam. Goodbye ye ole London town my friend It’s surely been a pleasure A place anew is now my home Sure I will see you again.

That feeling crept back, I may end up much worse off Mentally, spiritually and financially! What on earth was I thinking?

My job works fine where now I live Here in the Northern tropics.

Long periods at home my time to spend As long breaks away work well.

Here in the culture of Thailand It keeps our relationship sane.

A STRANGE THING THEN HAPPENED.

The COVID pandemic has kept me from work So here I am, having to suffer a long period of time Here on the beach in the tropics, spending my time Writing here it all worked out rather well.

What was I thinking when I left that small town!!! Becoming better off mentally spiritually and financially.

Thank you for reading. J.
