All About Moldavite: Can This Mystical Green Gem Stone Turn Your World Around?
A Critical Yet Open-Minded Moldavite Investigation
I recently started researching moldavite after coming across some intriguing videos about this unique green mineral.

The reports of its mystical properties captivated me enough to acquire my own 1.7 gram moldavite piece.
While skeptical, I was compelled to experience moldavite’s effects for myself.
What is Moldavite? How Expensive Is Moldavite?
Geologically, moldavite is classified as a fragile olive green tektite formed around 15 million years ago during a massive meteorite impact in the Czech Republic. This intense heat melted the space rock and local terrestrial materials into a rare glass-like tridymite substance, catapulted it into the atmosphere, later coming down scattered across the region.
Unlike common earthly gemstones, moldavite’s extra-terrestrial origins give it a one-of-a-kind crystalline structure. Examined under a microscope, its swirling and bubbled composition reveals the natural forces that shaped it during that prehistoric meteorite strike.
I got my 1.7g piece for around 35$.
Normally, you pay around 5–20$ per gram.
Be aware of fake sellers (etsy for example is full of them).
My Moldavite Necklace
Today, I decided to create a simple necklace to hold it, using a golden metal thread combined with blue cord:
I wanted to experience the closest contact possible to gauge effects.
While skeptical of any metaphysical powers, part of me was compelled to form my own judgments.
Moldavite Crystal Spiritual Properties:
In crystal healing traditions, moldavite has gained fame as the “stone of spiritual awakening” due its uniquely high vibration.
It’s believed to resonate at an intense frequency that can accelerate inner evolution and heighten consciousness when used with intentionality.
Where Does Moldavite Come From?
Nearly all moldavite originates from the Czech Republic where that fateful meteorite crashed fifteen million years ago.
The impact formed a strewn field across the region that geologists call the Bohemian Plateau encompassing around 275 square miles. Only about six other much smaller tektite strewn fields exist on Earth.
How to Tell if Moldavite Is Real? / Real Moldavite
Genuine moldavite can be distinguished by its wrinkled, pitted exterior and glassy sheen.
The green color varies from pale to deep forest hues.
Under magnification, moldavite’s gaseous inclusions, flow patterns and streaks become visible, indicating natural formation.
A ringing sound when tapped or fallen on a glassy surface also helps verify authenticity.
Moldavite Properties
Despite lacking definitive scientific consensus, healers cite moldavite’s unique extra-terrestrial origins and highly concentrated crystal lattice as enhancing its energetic properties.
Many also believe that moldavite is “guiding” the holder to use other crystals and is expanding the energy of those crystals.
It is also important to note that one’s intentions, beliefs and sensitivity can determine the effects felt more than innate powers.
What Does Moldavite Do?
Meditating with moldavite is said to activate and unblock the heart and third eye chakras, accelerating self-discovery and healing.
Reported effects range from lucid dreaming and visions to emotional releases and heightened intuition.
As with many alternative therapies, results seem to vary dramatically by individual.
How To Use Moldavite
After my research, i found this: Due to its intense vibration, direct skin contact with moldavite is recommended only in short durations.
Placing it over the heart or third eye area during meditation to open and energize those chakras is a common practice.
Combining it with other harmonizing crystals can enhance benefits.
Where To Buy Moldavite
Authentic moldavite can be purchased online through reputable specialty retailers.
Czech, museum grade stones are costliest. But smaller pieces are more affordable. Careful research ensures paying fair prices for high quality specimens. As i mentioned above, be aware of fake sellers (etsy for example is full of them).
I reccomend to search on auction sites. I purchased my 1.7G piece on an online auction site from someone who had a meteorite shop a few years ago and is now selling them.

How To Cleanse Moldavite
What i found online: The best way to cleanse moldavite is leaving it in sunlight for around four hours. Harsher methods like salt water are said to diminish its vibration over time.
Simply washing it with water and recharging with the sun restores potency.
My Personal Experiences
While initially highly dubious about crystals containing any unexplained powers, I try to stay open-minded.
Since incorporating moldavite, I admit noticing increased energy, motivation and sense of wellbeing. However, placebo effects could also explain this given my suggestible belief it would impact me.
Nevertheless, exploring moldavite has been an intriguing encounter with an ancient extra-terrestrial artifact. At minimum, its exotic origins and aesthetic appeal make it a meaningful talisman. With an attitude of curiosity over gullibility, moldavite remains an alluring anomaly.
