Alchemy of the Emperor

Diamond light reveals How a heart transmutes its home Gems come first from coal

Two cells joined so you could become a physical character on the earth. It’s stunning to contemplate: the very first organ your busy cells created whole was the central force of circulation — your beating heart. Around this organ, your body was swiftly organized into a tangible, integrated system.

Where were you before? Where will you be after?

The idea is pure, enduring substance — the coal-dark mystery of your timeless quality, a fuel that by its own impulse transmutes to living, functional light embodied. A person. A timeline. An unfolding.

In Chinese Medicine, each physical organ is attributed to a specific role and stature. One is supernal, bearing a title above which there are no others: The Heart is The Emperor, and within its domain lives the mind, your psyche.

Listening to your heart, apart from how romantic that may sound, is the most intelligent thing you can do. It is an act of tuning in to the central truth of who you are. You have within the steady source of alchemical fuel needed to shine through the grist and grind of this experience we call life.
