Ain’t Technology Wonderful
We needed a new washer and the one we got may be smarter than me.

It all started when my step-brother threw a load of clothes in the washing machine. About 20 minutes later, I hear my dad say something like, “Oh, %^&*!” I asked him what was wrong, and he said that there was water all over the floor — the washer did not stop filling the machine as it started the spin cycle. It was a goner.
We went shopping the next day. At Home Depot, they couldn’t deliver it in less than ten days. We wanted it sooner than that, so we decided to try Lowe’s instead.
The sales associate in appliances was waiting on another customer when we arrived, so we looked around to see what they had. When she was free, we asked about the delivery time. She said if they had the washer in stock, it could be delivered the following Wednesday — only five days away. Yippee!!
We showed her three that we liked, and off she went to check on them. When she returned, she said she only had one of the three in stock. I said “we’ll take it” before she said which one it was. It turned out it was the one I wanted with the largest tub for bedding — and the most expensive. We bought it and made arrangements for delivery and installation. They will even take the old one away.
Delivery and installation went off without a hitch. After running an empty load to wash out any dirt in the tub, I read through the user’s manual and washed a load of clothes to see how it worked.

Talk about modern technology! This thing was amazing! I took a couple of snapshots to show you what I mean.

When you start the machine, you do not have to pick a size or water level. It scans and WEIGHS the clothes to determine how much water it will need. I couldn’t believe it! It has a clear lid, so I had to watch it.

I love new technology, but with all these fancy extras, it’s probably more likely to break down — luckily, we got a five-year warranty.
However, with all this technology, it still won’t dry and fold the clothes for me. A girl can dream, can’t she?
I hope you enjoyed this story. Let me introduce myself…
