AI vs HI Movement — Purpose

Communication is the key. The more you know, the more meaningful the HI movement is to everyone.

OMGosh, again and again. When will it stop?

This movement began in 2023 with many writers, including Victoria Kjos, Meryan Pelland, R C Hammond, and Concievely Me, who first used HI and human intelligence in her writing. But since then, it’s become the topic for 2024.

2024: The Year We Discussed AI vs HI

I was privileged to be included in many early discussions on privacy with the Internet. I was there when the first VOIP contract was signed.

Each of these had intended and unintended consequences. Those of us who were trying to figure it out did OK, but maybe not the best job. I think that given the resources and the pressures at that time, we did an outstanding job.

In each case, thousands of voices were heard. There was no shortage of opinions. The important thing is that in each case, each voice mattered.

YOUR VOICE MATTERS

So, what’s our real purpose? Frankly, it may be a different outcome for each of us. I’ll state my desired outcome (at a minimum) here and now:

“I do not want to see any AI-generated articles, stories, or posts in any Medium or other publication where the creative process is required. It would be acceptable if a publication states that it is for AI-generated content (only). I believe that AI Bots should not automatically vacuum up our creative Intellectual Property (IP). Ultimately, our IP will get mixed with something else.”

Children

Here’s a purpose for this movement that few people are thinking about. What about the children? Our cause is just, but who’s fighting for the children? Who is going to ensure that what they read isn’t just Drek that was mass-produced to provide something so children have books?

Every school board in America should be issuing statements against AI education, especially in the lower grades when children lack the skill to discern and take so much on pure belief.

Schools must be AI free. They must depend on human intelligence to teach and train these young minds.

If you have a position, please state it at the bottom of your writing. Please let people know that as a writer, you have a position.
