AI Image How-To — #39
Coloring pages! — secrets revealed and free printables!

I know this article lacks the vibrant hues exploding in each image that I typically share but that could be your job! (Or your child’s!) Each image comes from a different coloring book that I have published on Amazon. (The link to my Amazon page is at the bottom.)
Each of these images could be printed off to be colored in whatever fashion you enjoy most!
I have found different wording variations that work to create the images as coloring pages. As with any new craft, there is a learning curve that progresses!
If you’ve followed my work for any length of time, you know I like to utilize anthropomorphic creatures!
I added no shading to all prompts — though AI has its own objective at times. Rather often actually. I’ve used coloring book illustration and black and white to get the basic lined drawing. I’ve also added clean line art — all in an attempt to have clean lines without all of the shading.
MJ created so many amazing images (considering I’ve made five coloring books at the time of this article,) some images were far less than desirable, and a few outright funny. (One because of a typo I made — I ended up with a dinosaur bat! LOL)
MJ most definitely knew what a ninja dog was and rocked them all!
Prompt for the image above:
ninja dog eating noodles, funny, anthropomorphic, coloring book illustration, black and white, clean line art, no shading

For this page (and those within this current book in progress — #6 for me,) I used a different approach in an attempt to eliminate more of the shading — create a simple minimalistic children’s color pages with continuous lines and with no greyscale and no shading.
I have discovered the more I generated a prompt, the more shading the page had.
Thus far, this wording produced the cleanest coloring pages. 👍
Takeaway: If you don’t get your image before the shading appears, try re-wording the prompt. (Like with any image you are trying to generate!)
Prompt for the image above:
create a simple minimalistic children’s color pages with continuous lines and with no greyscale and no shading, a space+pirate with a pet dinosaur, simple, low detail, line art, clean lines, black and white

This was the very first coloring book I created — more because kittens are adorable than thinking they would sell.
I found different background descriptions to give some interestingly beautiful images. Try words such as beautiful background, or peaceful background and see what I mean!
Prompt for the image above:
adorable playful kitten, no shading, HD, adult coloring book illustration, black and white, clean line art, no shading, mandala background

This image is part of a book my husband thought would be a grand idea.
You’ll notice from the prompt, this is before I learned how to change the wording for less shading.
Mistakes are powerful teaching tools! Learn from mine! 🤣
Prompt for the image above:
adult color pages, excited bald man with a long beard throwing a snowball, simple, low detail, line art, black and white

Beautiful pattern was one of the phrases I tested for, well, beautiful results. I also used words such as peaceful, relaxing, stunning…each granting different results.
One wording I tried that I did not care for? Kaleidoscope!
Prompt for the image above:
adult color pages, beautiful pattern, simple, low detail, line art, black and white
