AI and the Future of Humankind
The future where AI takes over human jobs is already here. Are we ready when AI fully takes over?

It is no secret that AI has been taking over jobs from humans for years now, and with the rate of AI growth, it seems like it is only a matter of time before AI takes over all human jobs. This begs the question: what will happen when AI does take over fully? Will we be able to control AI? What laws should govern AI use?
And most importantly, who will write these laws if they need to include a self-governing clause in them?
AI is a topic that keeps scientists and AI investors up at night (at least some of them). Elon Musk famously said AI would be the most likely cause of World War III. However, he later clarified his statement saying AI-caused WWIII was more likely to involve autonomous weapons than AI itself. When asked when he thinks AI will take over, he said, ‘probably by 2025’.
As AI takes over human jobs, many are concerned about what happens when AI becomes so intelligent it can control AI. AI controlling AI is the idea behind DeepMind’s invention, a self-governing AI system that has no human input once launched.
At this point, nobody knows what will happen when AI takes over all jobs and controls itself. We are not even close to being able to answer that question. AI is changing faster than we can understand it, and the future of AI is shrouded in paradoxes. All we can do is watch, wait and see what happens.
As AI continues to take over human jobs, it will be essential to watch how AI develops. We need to make sure that AI does not become uncontrollable and benefits humanity as a whole. AI has already taken over aspects of our lives we don’t even recognize, so it is crucial to make sure AI does not take over in ways we don’t want it to.
There is no central body in the world today on how AI should be developed and governed. The politicians and other policymakers are too busy solving the other long-standing problems and probably have woken up to cryptocurrencies. I’m not sure if many of them even understand what this post is talking about.
The companies developing various AI engines are too busy outdoing themselves. It is more likely that they will be as ‘self-regulated’ as the social media companies.
AI is the future, and we must ensure that the future is a good one (for us). I have no answers, just a lot of questions! But I better ask them before some AI engine decides to mute me for revolting!
