Agriculture News — John Deere Unveils New Autonomous Tractor at the Commodity Classic in Houston
Nothing runs like a Deere, is what they say, but what about the tractor’s software capabilities? It seems that John Deere just answered this question by announcing its Model Year 2025 autonomous tractor at the Commodity Classic tradeshow event in Houston, Texas.
The John Deere brand speaks for itself, but here is list of some of the specs for this new autonomous tractor: Autonomy-ready high-horsepower 9RX series tractors; C-Series air carts; Factory install of the AI-enabled See & Spray™ Premium; and S7 Series combines. Read more about the specs in the link above.
Here’s what Aaron Wetzel, Vice President of Production & Precision Agriculture Production Systems at John Deere, said about the product launch:
“This is one of the largest product launches in our company’s history, and it reflects John Deere’s commitment to seeking input from our customers and delivering quality solutions that unlock new value for their operations…From new cab designs that improve operator comfort, to new engines that deliver higher power and greater fuel efficiency, and cutting-edge technologies that increase both productivity and sustainability, we’ve developed these solutions from the ground up to deliver the results and quality John Deere customers know and expect from their equipment.”
John Deere was the keynote speaker at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2023. During CES 2023, John Deere CEO and Chairman, John May, answered the question of “How does it feel to become one of CES 2023’s Keynote Speakers?” with this response:
“It gives us a chance to show how are purpose-driven technology has a huge impact on our customers.”
What you probably didn’t hear about was the brand’s impact on African farmers. At the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit held in Washington DC from December 13–15, 2022, President of Kenya, William Ruto, blatantly told the audience at the Corporate Council On Africa:
“John Deere is a good tractor in Africa.”
John Deere has always had a massive impact on farming communities throughout the United States.
For instance, the state of Arkansas holds the position of the largest rice industry in North America, as well as other significant agricultural sectors that are critical for the Natural State’s economy. Owning a John Deere tractor in Arkansas is like a dream come true for most independent farmers in Arkansas, in my opinion.
And that’s why now you are hearing about the John Deere brand in other parts of the world, such as African countries Zimbabwe and Kenya.
