Age Tempers Anger

Or it should

Now more than ever in this chaotic world, we need cooler minds to solve what appears to be unsolvable global crises. We have brilliant scientists, medical breakthroughs by the day, creative entrepreneurs, peaceful activists sacrificing their time and energy for the benefit of the planet.

Is the global community as a whole even aware of the efforts of these dedicated men and women?

The answer is simple. NO. They are drowned out by the chattering of angry undereducated fools. And these fools are tools for the rich and powerful. They are the blunt instruments of pompous politicians preaching selfish intentions while spewing hatred and anger.

They are no dummies. They know exactly who to target. They know exactly what boxes to tick. And their only concerns are their desire for power and their bank account. Damned the consequences.

The historical playbook for these dastardly deadbeats has been used throughout the history of humanity.

1. Attack the others (color of skin, spoken language, wrong side of the border, sex, religion, and the always popular they will take everything you own speech. 2. The “Follow me and your life will be richer for it” speeches. We will build better (you name it) speeches, we will create more jobs while failing to mention they will be all low-wage jobs. And let’s not forget these speeches are filled with vitriolic attacks towards those preventing this from happening now. 3. Perhaps the biggest tool in their toolbox. Fearmongering. If we don’t put a stop to this now our lives will be doomed speeches.

Repeatedly, history has proven this to work. Target the uneducated, downtrodden, the discontent, and those too lazy to help themselves. Every dictator and autocrat throughout history has implemented this playbook.

We have seen this in hundreds of movies. We have read it in our history books. And somehow we still find it surprising when we are faced with it. When the wannabe dictators stir anger to a boiling point.

This may come as a surprise to the younger generations, but us old and decrepit men and women have seen this a time or two. If you have doubts about what you see or hear from the 24 hour-a-day news cycle, find an old person and get their view on things. If you don’t have doubts you really need to find an old person. One whose anger has faded with time.

Then, shut up and listen. You may actually hear something worth listening to. If you are really smart, you may actually learn how to create a life worth living. What is truly important in life? What will make you a better person? What will enrich your life? You know, the things that truly matter.
