WRITING THEME/PROMPT

Age of Empathy March Prompt: Women Who Inspire

It’s a month to celebrate the women who have helped to light our paths in life

Image created by author using AI and Canva.

Happy end of February! The blip of a month blipped by us as we dipped our toes tentatively into the vast pond of hope… hope for hints of spring and the end of winter in sight.

And now, on the cusp of March and the turning of the seasons, we feel the energy rising again. I don’t know about you but this gal without a social life already has a pretty full calendar for March and I dare say it’s just a taste of things to come.

Last month’s theme was in honour of the earth’s turning and the northern hemisphere coming back towards the light. This month, as suggested, I believe, by AoE editor, Bob Merckel (but please correct me if I got that wrong) is in honour of International Women’s Day which occurs every year on March 8th.

It’s a day to celebrate everything that women stand for and everything we have achieved through the ages. It’s also a day to celebrate one another, including the treasured memories of those once in our lives who have passed.

So, our prompt for this month is this:

Tell us about a woman in your life, past or present, who has played an important role for you personally. Someone who stood out as exceptional, even in her own small way, who has made an impact that was, even slightly, life-changing in some way.

Perhaps her own journey was tough and you watched in awe as she overcame challenges. Perhaps she lived in a way that taught you important life lessons that are now deeply ingrained.

Whatever the story, we want to hear it.

Please note that stories of all women, cis, trans, or gender-fluid who have leant into womanhood, are welcome.

Please use the assigned tag/topic for this month:

“Women Who Inspire”

By using the assigned tag, Women Who Inspire, it ensures that your story populates in the monthly prompt section of the pub homepage and gets to be featured there.

We can’t wait to read your stories of inspiration, empowerment, love, sisterhood, motherhood, and everything else that comes with the blessing of womanhood.
