This drabble (100-word story) is a response to Crush Hundo Edition’s word prompt. Today’s word is ADOMANIA.

Adomania: The sense that the future is coming too quickly.

Aging is a funny thing.

As a kid, all Heather wanted was to be an adult. She dreamed of having boyfriends over, hosting crazy parties and not having to answer to her parents.

But now, as a woman in her forties, time was moving so fast. Too fast. The future was coming, and she wasn’t ready.

She had a bucket list as long as her arm, and she was desperate to really live. So she decided to grab life by the balls and do what she wanted while she still had the chance.

First item on the list: clown college.

This 28th drabble is written as part of the “100 Story Challenge” by @Zane Dickens.
