Adele Is The Big Winner Of The Brit Awards 2022
With three main trophies
Adele won three of the four main awards at the Brit Awards gala on Tuesday, where she sang the song "I Drink Wine", announces "Good Artist", "Best Album" and "Best Song of the Year" for "Easy on Me".
Ed Sheeran has been named "Composer of the Year" at O2 Arena in London. He performed "Bad Habits" with the rock band Bring Me the Horizon.
Dua Lipa won another grand prize of the evening, after TikTok users voted for her and not for Adele in the "best pop / R&B artist" category. Robbie Williams remains the most awarded British artist in history, ahead of Adele, with 13 trophies.
After winning her first of three awards for Best Song, Adele said, "I can't believe a piano ballad won so many rhythm songs."
Hip-hop / rap / grime artist was named singer Dave. He gave one of the best performances of the evening with the song "In the Fire".
The Silk Sonic Americans were voted "the best international group."
Biile Eilish has been named "Best International Artist."
Olivia Rodrigo won the "International Song of the Year" award with her single "Good 4 U".
This year, more women have been nominated than ever in the last decade, with the winners outnumbering men by three to one - nine artists being awarded compared to three men.
The ceremony was hosted for the first time by comedian Mo Gilligan, who took over from Jack Whitehall.
