Adding this SIMPLE Trick could Easily make you a Better Writer
The problems I noticed as a content editor
Why aren’t you adding this simple step into your article!
It’s crazy to me how many writers are simply missing out on the most important step in their writing which is the money-maker of writing. The important step is also the final step which is the CTA(call-to-action). It is going to probably be a 1 liner or at most 5 lines but writers are choosing not to write them. Why!
Power of CTA
Learning to write a good CTA could probably be the biggest factor in whether a writer is going to earn more money from his/her writing. That’s why in this article I will be showing you how to write a good CTA that will have a high likelihood of getting clicks from Google traffic and Medium.
Build a Story
It is SUPER EASY to write about the problems in our lives. We can complain about this or that, making the story as relatable to as many people as possible, and getting a lot of audience from it.
Even so, you still aren’t going to make much money from writing such content. People are looking for a solution. Something that can make their lives a little bit better.
Using the Right CTA
The number reason why most CTA doesn’t do well or even get any clicks is how the writer presents the link. The general idea of adding CTA in the last few lines is outdated thanks to how our newer generations are now learning to take in as much information as possible in the shortest amount of time.
Let's be real, almost all readers will never read your article to the end. So here’s the newer version of pushing out quality CTA to your readers.
Problem → Addressing the issue → Solution
To get the maximum amount of readership, tell your audience upfront what they would be getting. Share about what problems are there, how people are addressing them, and how you have a solution for it(affiliate link to add).
If I tell my readers I’m not having enough coffee to be more productive, I can share with them how I tend to work better when I have more coffee in my system, and how my readers can get me a cup of coffee to support me.
Referring left and right
You don’t have to prove all your points till the end so that your readers will click on your CTA. You can add it into all your paragraph if you can find the opportunity to.
Scroll back to the top, you would see many links that I have added so readers can check out other pages. This adds bounce rate to your content and it shows Google and Medium you have much valuable content to push out even more.
Reward System
Who doesn’t like to be awarded something great?
A reward system keeps readers interested to find out more about your content and incentives readers to read to the bottom.
At the end of this article, I will be sharing with you my excel sheet for you to take!
Using CTA with SEO in mind
Google is always looking to promote a product or service that they feel is good for its viewers. To target the right group of people, learning to use SEO is critical for any writer.
SEO is all about finding the right keywords and information that people on the Internet are searching for. As a content writer, your job is to address these issues and help solve these inquiries on the Internet. If you do that, you will be rewarded with high traffic to your website. Thus, making more revenue from ads or affiliates.
You need to master SEO. It’s our bread and butter whether we like it or not. No one will read your book unless it meets certain SEO criteria. To ease my need to find keywords on the Internet, I use RankIQ to help me find all the keywords on Google and my job is to put all these words into an addressable article. It’s that simple!
