Closing the Distance
Monday morning’s micro poem
as we lay here together, battling thoughts we cannot repress attempting to inhale, smell, savor this moment our eyes lock as our tongues connect while beads of sweat gather on your body, I kiss your neck, ignoring morning’s distance when you left me wondering alone, that memory now penetrates my lips as the salty taste conceals itself amidst our continuing rapture
I appreciate this writer’s prompt from Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她): A memory, joyful or painful, that now tastes different
I invite Kim Jagwe Betsy Denson Edina Abena Jackson to join this challenge and write a poem, essay or thought based on the above prompt.
