This affirms that she has a cold heart and does not care about students, their families, nor educators. The pandemic wreaked havoc on the lives of many of these individuals. They deserve the respect and support required to reengage schools with their communities.

While hope for a better tomorrow is being shed upon everyone impacted by the pandemic because vaccines are being distributed, empathy and compassion are needed to bring healing and wholeness into schools. The resistance that Betsy DeVos promotes is veiled in disdain for the educational systems that she is responsible to lead. Her desire for resisters to emerge within the Department of Education proves that she is void of caring interpersonal qualities needed to restore systems of education.
