Absent On Monday Mornings
I am one of those absent on Monday mornings No, I am not sick My body’s present but my mind isn’t I need caffeine in my veins To keep my body from collapsing
This has got me thinking
We drink coffee first thing in the morning, out of habit But in all the madness and busyness of our lives We forget to reflect on our inner worlds
So we live out our lives on autopilot But rarely, if ever with intent
Days go by Years passed Then suddenly
We found out a little too late that
Time was never on our side
If life is a game and We’re all passengers on a plane I don’t want to crash and burn
So I will board that plane as Captain Dark clouds may cause some turbulence but I will get through them ‘till I see sunlight My dreams to take flight
