10 random answers to 10 random questions
Instead of working on the Penske file like I should, I’ve decided to answer 10 random questions that come courtesy of Lynn L. Alexander. I love these kinds of writing prompts because they give my noggin a nice workout that doesn’t feel like a pounding.
1. Have you ever flown in a helicopter?
Yes, twice. My first time in a chopper felt weird as you take off vertically rather than diagonally like in a plane. My stomach did wee somersaults but I enjoyed it.
One time I flew over the Bungle Bungles in Western Australia and another time the Grand Canyon. That was to celebrate a mate’s birthday. He happens to be gay and as we flew over the canyon, a rainbow appeared in the sky. So that was sweet.
2. How many surgeries have you had?
Two.
The first was to get my wisdom teeth taken out. Pro tip: don’t hang around funny people after your surgery. Laughter will bust open your stitches.
The other surgery was to remove a big hunk of endometriosis that was playing havoc with my lady bits. I believe Roz Warren, Writing Coach had the same procedure. Read Roz’s 10 answers to these random questions here.
3. What is your favourite dinner?
Roast lamb.
In the 1990s, there was a series of Australian ads about young women giving up a date with Tom Cruise because their mum’s cooking a lamb roast.
4. Are you a morning person?
No way, Jose!
5. What is the most adventurous thing you have done?
Abseiling down the outside of a skyscraper in La Paz, Bolivia while dressed as Spider-Woman. Well, maybe it wasn’t an actual skyscraper but it was tall enough. I made it down by refusing to look at the ground until my feet hit it.
6. What do you like to put on your hotdogs?
Tomato sauce.
What you call ketchup, we call tomato sauce in Australia. We’re right and you’re wrong.
Although, I rarely eat hotdogs. They’re a highly suspicious “food”. If there’s ever an apocalypse, cockroaches and hotdogs will be the only survivors.
7. What is/was your favourite amusement park ride?
Rollercoasters! I love how they make my guts feel.
8. Do you think you could kill someone to save your life or a loved one’s life?
Yes for a loved one. For me, it depends on the sitch. I probably would kill in self-defence and if the other person is a bit of an arsehole. But I wouldn’t go out and kill some random person just so I could live. I’d get one of my loved ones to do that for me.
Jokes aside, I’m a lover not a killer.
9. What is a favourite concert you have attended?
Blondie and the Pretenders played at an Australian winery about 15 years ago. As well as enjoying two of my favourite bands rocking out, there was plenty of wine.
10. Would you still write on Medium if you won 10 million dollars?
Hells yeah!
I’ll need something to do with my time after I quit my job. Besides, I’ve already spent the money so I’ll need the income from this platform.
