About Me — Victoria Gregg
I’m just enjoying my crazy journey.

I am a mom of an eleven-year-old boy who’s quite the handful. I had him later in life, but I think things happen when you are ready for them. He keeps me on my toes, and I feel much younger than my chronological age. He has given me many interesting things to write about. The story below is very humorous and chronicles the time I thought I was going to get arrested because of my son's speech impediment.
I know more about superheroes, Godzilla, Minecraft, inclement weather, and black holes than I ever thought I would. My son is an average student, but his knowledge of science astonishes me. He is advanced in it, and I try to feed his passion by sending him to science camps. He’s been to camps at Berkeley College, one affiliated with Stanford, and also NASA Science Camps.
I have lived in six states that have all been very different from each other. One of my favorite places was Arizona. I was so blessed to live there and experience how special it is. The process of moving is stressful but also exciting. I look back, and a couple of the moves were tough for my family. I wouldn’t change anything because there were so many wonderful experiences, despite the division it may have caused. When faced with change and adversities, you learn more about yourself and what you want, need, and don’t want in your life.
The most challenging part is that the years pass, and you miss out on seeing family members’ milestones. When I left my home state, my nephews were little boys. When I moved back for a year, they were men. It made me realize that life goes by quicker than you think.
When you live in so many places, the meaning of home changes, and it isn’t easy to feel settled. I’ve resided in my current location for about a year and nine months, and I’m already thinking about where I would like to move next. Here is a link to my recent story about what “home” means to me.
I have always been a creative person, although I went to college for science because it was more practical. I was in the healthcare profession for about twenty-five years. I halted my career to be a stay-at-home mom. I like being there for my son because I did not grow up with lots of parental involvement, but I lost a bit of myself hence pursuing photography and writing to feed my soul. The following link is a story I wrote about why it is important for mothers to have other interests.
I am a nature photographer, and many of the photos in my articles are ones I took. I also post some of my pictures with inspirational sayings on Instagram @Victorias_nomadic_life. I try and put positivity out there because there is so much negativity in the world. Here is a recent sunset photo I took in North Carolina.

I find respite in nature. I love the ocean and the energy it has. Finding a shell on the beach is like being given a gift from the sea. I consider myself a sunset chaser. I love sunsets and how magical they are. The colors of the sky amaze me, and I feel when I watch a sunset, it awakens me spiritually.
Hiking or walking and taking photos of the miracles of nature has helped to ground me. It has allowed me to see the beauty in my life when I’ve been confronted with problems. Here is another article about seeing the beauty in our lives and how it can give us hope in times of despair.
I have always said that I wanted to be a writer. I found a book of poetry I wrote as a teenager, and it inspired me. I have had so many stories in my head for years that sometimes I spent more time dreaming than writing. I’m finally getting them all out of my head. I have two children’s books I’m finishing up and a novel I hope to publish in a year.
Medium and its supportive community have given me the confidence to pursue my goal of publishing my books and sharing my stories with the world. I write about the human journey, spirituality, change, self-realization, parenthood, and whatever else inspires me.
Although I’m older, I feel ageless and think you are never too old to follow your dreams. We all have a story to tell, and by sharing it, we can change others’ lives as well as our own.
