About Me — Sally Prag

What some may know, others may wish to know, and yet others don’t give two hoots.

Hi! It’s me!

Hey! Great to have you stop by ;)

Pull up a virtual seat and I will put on the virtual kettle for a cuppa.

I may or may not have yet read about you, but I guess this is where you get to find out all about me, so here goes…

Me and my dog Ginger, by our beloved sea.

I am not going to pretend that I started this life off having any kind of a clue about where I would be heading in life, and I don’t pretend to know now. Every day I wake up and think…

How have I landed here, and where will this day take me?

Every day brings surprises, and planning ahead is like some comical notion that only exists in other worlds besides mine.

Yet, every day I show up to bring a little something into the world. I think it’s slowly working in my favour.

So, who REALLY am I? And what do I do?

I was born in Malaysia to an English father and an Israeli mother, travelled between the far east, Israel, the UK, and Africa for the first eleven years of my life, and settled in Oxfordshire in England for the remainder of my school years.

Now, do you see why I am a little confused and all over the place?

After school/university, I travelled lots more, lived in France for a couple of years, and then settled to raise my children — now three in total, and that’s enough thank you very much — in beautiful Devon in the South West of the UK. I also now have a furry family of 2 cats and a dog too.

Finally, I put my feet down!

Did I get grounded? Hardly, but I have lots of stories to tell.

Did I find some use? Eventually, a little…I think.

So what do I do?

For many years I had my own little craft enterprises, some earning well, some not so. But all creative and fun!

In 2016, I began to delve into the world of online marketing, learning all things in this wild online space such as blogging, video marketing, social media leverage, sales funnels, affiliate marketing, etc. I had some success in this area, although kept trying and adding new things, grew a great blog and library of webinars and videos, and then deleted most of it over the last year.

Why did I do that?

Because none of it felt like me, I still had links to things I no longer wanted to promote or recommend, and I was now using my skills to coach others in the space and knew that it was the only authentic choice to make.

In early 2020, I had the amazing opportunity to become part of the original coaching team for social media guru Frazer Brookes and had the most incredible year’s experience in coaching. I have continued into 2021 to coach some private clients only and meanwhile felt a great pull to be writing.

Immersing myself in the writing life

Writing has always been something I have enjoyed, and being given tasks to write on topics that I am driven to write about is something that I have always embraced. After being asked to write a chapter in a collaboration book, released in June 2021, I realised that writing was something I needed to do more of.

I have used and taught social media for solo business owners for some time, but have never fallen in love with the busy selfie-centric space that the most used platforms occupy. However, I have always risen to the challenge, despite my lack of love for it, and found that my real talent was in the way I wrote, more than anything else.

Despite the fact that I rarely do videos anymore, I was often able to have a good social media presence and engagement, and I put that down to my ability to write sensitively for an audience. And so, in the summer of 2021, I felt I had to go further into it.

I pulled right back on all my social media channels to allow myself the freedom to write. I felt that I can reach people with words and that Medium is a space that invites writers to explore their gifts, and allows us to use it to do much more besides.

I have just completed my first month of writing, have joined the Partner Program, and am excited about where I can go, and how I can help others, similar to my current clients, to leverage Medium in order to grow a much wider network and following. Watch this space.

Inspiring the world to journal

‘The world’ might be a bit ambitious, but it sounded good, so I wrote it.

Another thing you should know about me is that I am a journaling nerd. I love to journal daily, and I swear by it for keeping me sane, laughing, moving forward daily, and out of poverty.

No, my journal doesn’t make me money, as such, but it has helped me to create clarity and focus on the things that really matter. It has also allowed me to dream big and find the paths to achieving my goals.

I have promised a bunch of people that I WILL be starting a journaling community that is destined to be FUN, while helping everyone who has the desire, and is committed, to get journaling, and stay accountable, while finding creative inspiration that they may never have realised was there.

If you want to know about this and get in on the fun then do sign up for my emails.

Otherwise, please connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn and just let me know that you found me here on Medium.

I can’t wait to get to know all about you too!
