I write about life, things that I observe, things that irritate or inspire, some of which tug at my soul.</p><h2 id="9271">Living Experience…</h2><p id="3077">I started my life journey on the African continent. For my first three decades, I was raised and educated there. My parents always thought it better for their kids to start off back home and then migrate as adults. I spent some time in Europe and now I live in North America. The experiences I have living in North America are enough material for many E-books. Perhaps it’s because it’s the only continent I have lived in without an immediate family.</p><h2 id="b8a3">How Do I Make Living?</h2><p id="e41e">I am not practicing my craft now so my active income is markedly reduced. I had done some investments in the past and some of its dividends are paying some of my bills. I spend a lot of time on my blog but that is yet to pick the bills. I am a network marketer and currently use and market products from the forever living company. I did a feature piece <a href="https://readmedium.com/pay-it-forward-with-forever-99c5b8c34e97">here</a>. I market some other goods and services which earn me money inconsistently. Career-wise, I am seriously considering doing a doctorate. My first choice would be mental health and my second choice would be family medicine and public health. At The Very Beginning…

I am a Nigerian, specifically from the South Eastern region. My hometown is Nkwerre in Imo State. I belong to a major tribe called the ‘Igbos’. I am from a family of six and plus my parents; that’s eight. Everyone in my home has a science background. However, we all share the art of writing but do it in various styles. My parents are entrepreneurs and I have taken a bit of that from them too.

I am a trained physician and went to medical school in Nigeria. I migrated 2 years ago to North America and have temporarily stopped seeing patients. I still get calls from old and new patients who insist on seeing me in a make-shift clinic.

I first noticed Medium on social media. I noticed the font and formatting of their articles. It felt user-friendly.

How Did I Become Actively Engaged With Medium?

I have always been an avid writer but not a paid avid writer. In March 2020, I started writing much more. Why? The shutdown was upon us. I needed to stay engaged. I started off on vocal media. One day as I shared my article on Whatsapp, a friend advised me to try the Medium platform. He told me that Medium had an SEO advantage and would give me more visibility. He did not know much about the technicalities of payment. I discovered that by reading one of Casey Botticello’s blog posts. That was how my journey began. I was a bit discouraged by the payment system. If other paying writers read your work, you get paid. At first, I found that restrictive. What sold it for me was the writers’ communities on Facebook. I like the support they provide. Vocal Media is yet to develop that (if I am not mistaken).

What Do I Do For Fun

I read and write a lot. It’s fun. It’s sometimes effortless. However, for quality's sake, a lot more work goes into each piece; much more than it takes to finish reading one story. You guys know what I am talking about. Besides those two, I also like to cook, shop, organize, and socialize. My other interests are family, partnerships, housekeeping, skincare, finance, and accounting. I like to mentor, like business, movies & music, health, wellness, pop culture, and politics. It’s a rather disorderly list, but there you have it. Sometimes, my writing touches on some of these subjects.
