About Me — Katie Jgln

Hi, I’m Katie.
I’m opinionated, unapologetic, and like writing content that angers people who are mentally stuck in the Middle Ages.
But if you made it here, I’m going to assume you’re not one of them. Or maybe you are, in this case — welcome; I see stalking me has become your hobby at this point.
Who am I
I was born a few days after the Soviet troops left my home country, Poland. And luckily, my parents didn’t move abroad, and I got to grow up in a poor, post-Soviet country. Yes, I’m being sarcastic.
I spent most of my life wanting to escape that ultra-religious, vodka-drenched country, and when I finally did, I had little to no clue what to do with my life. I moved from country to country, got two degrees in Business and Economics, and worked as a model, freelance illustrator, lingerie designer, and management consultant. Not all at once, of course — I might be a little crazy, but at least I’m not a capitalism-obsessed masochist like most side hustling bros on this platform.
All in all, I spent some time in France, Belgium, Italy, and the US, and four years ago, I decided to settle down in London, UK. It might not be the most beautiful place I’ve had the chance to live in, but it certainly has its charm. And nice fish & chips places.
And when the pandemic hit us, like many other depressed Millenials, I got addicted to Tik Tok. But that actually has worked out great for me (no sarcasm this time), and I ended up quitting the rat race to become a full-time content creator.
What do I do
Today I write and make video content about culture, politics, feminism, LGBTQ+, psychology, history, and anything else I feel like talking about. I also try to be funny from time to time, but I usually end up offending too many people (ahem, men).
In addition to juggling between multiple social media platforms, I also work with charities, NGO’s and political organizations to help raise awareness on a number of women’s issues.
My only goal for the future is to enjoy life while doing what I love. And maybe write a book or two and a screenplay for a movie.
Things I don’t hate (that much)

There aren’t many things that bring me genuine joy, but if I had to name a few, that would be:
- My Italian partner, who’s strangely worse at cooking pasta than I am
- Cooking pasta
- Onion — our adopted cat
- Books
- Swimming
- Movies that aren’t about superheroes
- Art of all kinds
- Taking pictures of literally everything
- Writing
The best of me in the Internet jungle
Medium
I’ve been writing regularly on Medium for the last year, and it looks like I’m here to stay.
Some of my top articles:
- If Women Don’t Want To Be Treated as Sex Objects, Why Do They Dress Provocatively?
- It’s No Wonder Teen Girls Hypersexualize Themselves When This Is How Media Portrays Them
- I Was Signed With a Modeling Agency As a Teenager, And I Regret It
Some of my favorite articles:
- The Terrible Price of Being in a Relationship With a Modern Man
- A DNA Test Revealed I Am Whom My Parents Hate The Most
- Kardashians Are Removing Their Butt Implants, but Why Should Anyone Care?
Other platforms
Apart from Medium, I’m most active on Tik Tok. I upload video content there almost every day, and I do occasional live streams. And no, I don’t have any dancing videos.
Besides Tik Tok, you can find me on on Instagram — where I post way too many stories of my cat Onion — and Twitter, which I still don’t fully understand how to use, to be honest. I’ve also recently created my own newsletter on Substack.

If you enjoy whatever it is that I’m doing on the Internet and want to support my work, you can buy me a coffee.
And if you want to get in touch or ask for tips on cooking pasta, you can drop me a message here.
