About Me — Jupiter Grant
Who do I think I am?
Hi! I’m Jupiter Grant (she/her).
As you may have guessed, Jupiter Grant is my nom de plume; writing anonymously enables me to be more honest and less inhibited in my work. I’m a purveyor of erotica, fiction, poetry, pop culture, and whatever else takes my fancy on any given day. I also narrate and produce Audible Audiobooks via ACX, and have numerous productions (of my own books as well as those by other authors) on sale at Amazon.
I have always been a writer, and was creating stories and articles from an early age. At the age of 12, I had a letter published in the local newspaper (in which I lamented the area’s lack of live music venues that would admit under-18s) and, in my 20’s I had an editorial published in a News Corp newspaper (one of Murdoch’s stable — shudder) in support of a local spiritual safe space for Wiccan and other Neo-Pagan women. Meanwhile, much of my writing was of the academic variety as I completed my BA, BA Hons, and my as-yet-unfinished PhD. Upon leaving my post-graduate studies, my writing was similarly shelved.
Then in May 2019, on the spur of the moment, I started a (NSFW) WordPress site, Jupiter’s Lair. The site grew a following and my long-dormant writing muscles began warming up again. I received offers from adult toy companies to test their products and publish my reviews, and was chuffed to receive lots of free products as well as inspiration for articles and stories.
I had a few (paid- yay!) articles published: “The e-Erotica Revolution and the Hidden World of Female Sexual Arousal”, “How Do You Write Smut When You Don’t Feel Sexy?” , and “Rejection: It Sucks, but is it a Blessing in Disguise?” (Should you be a little nervous about clicking, rest assured that none of these articles are smutty or overly explicit.)
I published often and, seeking to add something new to the site, I purchased a microphone and read a few of my stories on the blog. This was noticed by one of my followers, Lola Down, who enquired whether I’d ever done any audiobook narration and whether I would be interested in narrating and producing “Match, Cinder and Spark”, an erotic “roman à clef” all about Lola and penned by her partner H.H. There are now four volumes of the audiobook series on sale at Amazon, and I am currently working on Volume 5.
I have also self-published four books on Amazon; “Poerotica: 101 Saucy and Erotic Poems”, “A Horny Halloween: Six Smutty Stories for the Samhain Season”, “The Day Trip”, and a “vanilla” (i.e. non-erotica) short story about death and saying goodbye, “The Ninth Night”. Also on sale is a bundle containing all four books, “Interplanetary Quartet #1: A Collection of Four Titles by Jupiter”.
I joined Medium in November 2020, and have so far had 11 pieces chosen for further distribution, and have achieved Top Writer status in Fiction, Poetry, and Music. Although Medium doesn’t give Top Writer status to Erotica, my pieces regularly appear among the Top Stories in the Erotica tag.
I’m loving my Medium journey so far, and now, whenever I am asked “what do you do?”, I now reply with confidence and a great sense of pride, “I am a Writer”.
