About Me — Evon
A dreamer with a big heart, love to read and make friends. Laughing helps me to deal with stress and pain.

Hello there! My name is Evon(it is not how it’s spelled but is a story for the next time and is quite funny). I am a Polish-American, and English is not my first language, so please forgive me if my words sometimes seem out of place.
That task won’t be easy because, as much as I enjoy talking, I never know what to say about myself. I will try to share the three most important aspects of my life when I become more assertive, happier, and more self-aware,
I enjoy reading; it disconnects from the outside world while learning new things. I have enjoyed writing; it’s been a passion since high school.
From Poland to Italy to America
Poland
I grew up in Poland with my two best friends, my sister, and brother. I’m the youngest of three, and it wasn’t easy; they were constantly on my case, but it’s love, and I know that now.
Family means everything to me, and I can’t imagine not having them by my side.
“A sibling may be the keeper of one’s identity, the only person with the keys to one’s unfettered, more fundamental self.”
— Marian Sandmaier —
I studied business and worked in an office, but it wasn’t my dream or made me happy. So one day I quit my job, packed my bag, bought a one-way ticket to Italy, and went to clear my head and rediscover myself.
Italy
I began working as a barista in a coffee shop. I’ve met beautiful people and learned their culture and language. The most important thing I’ve learned is that they don’t argue every day; they’re just so genuinely enthusiastic and love to speak loud.
Italy is a country with a rich history and a singing language. You can’t help but smile when you see how happy they are.
They don’t care about what other people think, which was a huge source of inspiration for me. You know they’re lifelong pals if you’ve ever had an Italian friend.
It was a fantastic experience that taught me that I could make it independently with no regrets.
But after a while, I noticed that something was missing. So I decided to travel to America.
America
I daydreamed about visiting Los Angeles and meeting Kobe Bryant. I’ve been a fan of basketball since I was a little girl. I know it’s silly, but at the very least, I got to watch a game! Yay!
It was the best decision I’ve ever made, and I’m proud to call America my home.
My Love story:
After a year of traveling and being on my own, I met my husband and moved to Illinois. I was pretty young when I first met my husband. We fell in love with each other at the first sign, and I knew I loved him completely. We got engaged in three months and married a year later.
Because of my temper, it wasn’t easy at first, but we made it work. We had ups and downs, but we always worked hard to stay together. Being young, stubborn, and not knowing much about marriage can complicate life.
After all these years, we’re still together and happier than ever. I’ll be eternally grateful to my husband for being my soul mate and my life’s love. He taught me to be patient and to be a better person. If you find someone who makes you happy, don’t let them go — fight for them!

Finding a Career:
Living in Chicago, I decided to pursue a career as a nail technician. After finishing my training, I began working at a local salon. My job was fantastic! I met new people every day and painted cool designs on their nails.
It turned out to be a wise decision. It not only allowed me to improve my artistic abilities, but it also gave me a better understanding of people. Listening to their stories and concerns taught me to relate to others more effectively.
Surprisingly, this experience also aided later in my career as a business owner. After listening to so many customers, I understood what they wanted and needed, and I grew as a person and a business owner as a result.
My work as a nail technician has been rewarding. I’ve met a lot of lovely people and get to do what I love every day.
But I had to spend the entire day working with my hands, and it all began when my hands became tired. I thought it was just because I’d been working with them all day, but the fatigue worsened and worsened.
I eventually went to see a doctor, who performed some tests and informed me that I had a PSA and an autoimmune disorder. That’s when it dawned on me: my job was the source of the problem! I enjoyed what I did, but I had to think about my health first.
“Before you forget who you are, be yourself.”
So, I made the tough decision to leave my job and focus on getting better. It was a hard time for me, but with the support of my husband and family, I was eventually able to get through it.
I won the fight when I stopped asking why me.
Everything, I suppose, happens for a reason.
“Every day may not be good…
but there’s something good in every day.”
― Alice Morse Earle
And now, after years of hard work, I am finally was able to move to Florida and make a dream come true. So I’m in my happy place with my beloved husband and my lazy Pitbull Lucy, and she is getting older every day and makes me sad.
“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
— Roger Cras —
It was a long and challenging journey, but it was well worth it.
I’m grateful for everything that has happened to me in my life, and I know that it has shaped me into the person I am today. I wouldn’t change a single thing.
