Mini auto-biography

About Me — Erin Mixon

Chronicles of a self proclaimed weirdo…

Where are all my fellow weirdos at???….

Haha…just kidding…kinda…

But I do pride myself on being a little different and not going along with the crowd…

Who Am I ??

I’m Erin Mixon.

And exactly what does that mean???

Let’s dig a little deeper…

I’m an introspective, free-thinking, free spirited, optimistic, glass half full sort of chick…

I definitely march to the beat of my own drum and encourage others to do the same. I try not to take life, or myself, too seriously and I believe laughter is the best medicine.

I strongly believe that we are our own fiercest competition and that we should all be running our own race.

My Motto

Life is what you make it…and it will work if you work it. We are creators and are very powerful.

We have the ability to create an amazing life for ourselves.

Spiritual Awakening

About eight years ago…I underwent the start of a spiritual awakening. It was a doozy…

Let’s just say…it truly did wake me up

My life started to unravel during this time and major changes have occurred throughout this process.

Many of you have seen the meme that contrasts what people think a spiritual awakening looks like (left side) vs. what it actually looks like (right side)…

The left side shows a woman peacefully meditating in nature, while the right side shows a crazed, dishevelled woman (far from peaceful) that looks like she’s been through hell and back

This mirrors my awakening experience perfectly…

But I know that God, the universe, and my higher self had to insert these crazy experiences into my life to transition and realign me to where I needed to be…

Life had to squeeze me and make me sooo uncomfortable to where I had no choice but to change…

Sometimes when things fall apart, they're actually falling into place.

Even though this awakening process has been hard, it has led me to a place of doing what I love — becoming a writer full time.

Values

Being authentic and true to myself is really big on my list…

For years I lived my life in a way that I didn’t feel was authentic to me. It was definitely not easy and I suffered as a result.

Today, I am committed to being my most true, authentic self and living a life that mirrors that.

I believe that everyone has a heart compass that includes your intuition and a connection with your higher self.

You hold all the keys and you know all the answers to live an amazing life that is unique and right for you as an individual.

We should never allow anyone to tell us different, or to override our internal compass.

Only you know what you truly need and what’s best for you.

Spirituality vs. Religion

My definition of spirituality has definitely expanded over the past 8 years since the start of my spiritual awakening.

Let’s just say my one-dimensional view of God and religion has evolved a million times over.

I’ve seen some glitches in the matrix so to speak that made me have a much broader and more open-minded view when it comes to spirituality.

Between angel numbers and other synchronicities…

I now know spirituality is way more expansive than we could possibly imagine…

It’s been a crazy, yet amazing journey.

Sometimes when things fall apart, they’re actually falling into place.

Favorite Topics

My favorite topic to write about is self help.

I love to help, inspire, and motivate others. I got into self-help back in the day when my sister gave me a copy of Iyanla Vanzant’s In the Meantime.

I was hooked after that.

Today, I am committed to being my most true, authentic self and living a life that mirrors that.

What to Expect From Me…

You can expect to see mostly self-help content from me with some self-love and relationships stuff mixed in as well…and maybe even some spirituality content.

My goal when writing is to hopefully give you all advice that will include my unique perspective based off personal experience. I hope to share lessons that you all can learn from, and I hope to inspire and motivate you all as well.
