About Me and What I Write About
Travel, nature, photography, and whatever else I’m passionate about
Receiving countless new followers every day I thought I should create something where newbies can easily direct through my profile. An article that helps you find what you’re looking for.
Because I write a lot.
Passion is what describes my writing journey the best. It’s why I started to write and why I am still writing. I love writing down my thoughts and sharing them with my readers. But what do I write down?
I write about my life. And my life revolves around three different continents, various climate zones, and jobs. I’m an adventurous traveler who is an adrenaline enthusiast always keen on trying something new.
I love nature. I love being in nature, taking photographs of nature, and watching nature fly by. I’m passionate about photography which can be found in the weekly photo essays I am creating.
But my photography is involved in all my articles. I do not use stock photography for my work. All my pieces are decorated with my own photographs. This is why you won’t find a list of “photography”. Because photography is included in all the topics.
And I write about what it’s like to be a skydiving instructor. I describe my life of jumping out of planes multiple times a day having a stranger attached to me. I write about the skies, the clouds, and sunsets of course.
Sometimes, but only sometimes, I also get a bit romantic. My life as unconventional as it is, I share it with the love of my life. We’re partners at home, colleagues at work, and best friends in life.
I don't just write about one topic or one thing. As diverse as my life is, so is my portfolio. I've created several lists organizing the hundreds of articles I’ve written in a bit over a year for you to find the ones you’re interested in.
About me
This list is obviously a collection of articles about me. What others wrote about me and what I say about myself. It’s about how I live my life and it is about my writing journey.
Ghana
This is where my writing journey started. Apart from the days when I learned how to write in school. This is where I learned what to write. When I left for an unknown continent into an unknown future I found my passion for writing.
Back then I only wrote in German, on my website. But I’ve published a few pieces on Medium about my time and experiences in Ghana. More to come for sure.
Tanzania
When I left Ghana I flew to another African country to explore the beauty of Zanzibar and find my feet in traveling solo on this magical continent. This is where I did my first African safari and fell in love with the wilderness of this continent.
Namibia
Often referred to as my second home, this country finally stole my heart and made me live on the African continent for 5 years. This is where I learned how to live an unconventional life and still earn money. I learned how to live the life of your dreams and do whatever makes you happy.
New Zealand
It had been a dream of mine for so long and I finally made it come true. In November 2023, I moved to New Zealand. For work but hopefully with enough off days to explore the country.
And this is where my next big adventure starts. In January 2023, we (my husband and I) packed the car and headed out on a big adventure crossing the Southern African continent from West to East.
Wild camping among hippos and elephants, sleeping under the stars and driving through thick sand. This journey takes us through many challenges but it's a fun one.
Do you want to know how far we got? Check out this list.
But my writing does not evolve only around Africa. I’ve traveled through many countries in Europe and have lived for an entire year in Thailand. I’ve been hiking in the rainforest of Malaysia and love to write about my trips around the world. It’s not just city travel, but I did write about towns and villages I’ve visited on the way.
Road trips
And since I do like traveling so much I’m also a lover of road trips. In this category, I do have so far only articles on road trips I’ve made through the country of Namibia but I am sure it will be getting more diverse over time.
Northern Thailand
Living in Thailand for a few months between December 2021 and March 2022, I got the opportunity to explore some more of the country in between work.
In late February I ventured north together with my husband exploring the remote areas of the country. In this list, I’m taking you hiking and showing you views across the mountains of Laos.
I jumped onto the bandwagon creating an alphabet of my favorite travel destinations. It is currently still in the making and so far I got up to the letter of “F” (September 2022).
Nature is my inspiration. Nature is always prepared for another surprise. There’s so much beauty in nature — as long as you have an eye for the small things in life. Nature can teach us a lot. Just be quiet and listen…
Skydiving
Yes, I do jump out of planes for a living. While for many, the thought of jumping out of planes is already enough for a scare, I do strap strangers to my body to let them experience this adventure.
I know. I’m crazy. I’m different. But I like it.
Writing prompt responses
As you can imagine, with so much adventure I do always have something to write about. But I’m still thankful for all kinds of writing prompts coming my way. A new kind of inspiration for a different view of things in life is what I enjoy.
This is a selection of writing prompt responses I’ve written on the most diverse topics.
Writing
And because writing about writing on Medium earns us the most money I’ve also documented my writing journey. Occasionally. When I reach a milestone. Or when I have something to share. If there’s something I learned. Or something that left me hanging in the air.
I’m happy to see you’ve read through this post and I hope you found some topics which are interesting to you. I would love to see you around some more and would love to hear some feedback. Leave me a comment and let me know what you enjoy reading the most. What should I write more about?

P.S.: For German readers only — I wrote a book on my time in Ghana. You can find it on Amazon. It describes my experiences in a foreign country where I learned to live in a different culture.
