About Me

I am a writer, podcaster, and storyteller living on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. I have a master’s degree in history and formal training as a journalist.
I create and produce two podcasts — “The Missing and Unexplained” and “True to the Story.” Here on my Medium blog, you’ll find occasional updates about what I am working on for both of these ventures.
In addition to podcasting, I am also a writer. I primarily write freelance nonfiction and have previously written for publications like The Atavist Magazine, VICE Canada, The Vancouver Sun, CBC, Business in Vancouver, Esprit de Corps, and others.
I’m proud to say that in 2023 I published a long-form feature with The Atavist Magazine. It’s about a ship, the Valencia, and its horrific demise on the rocks off the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
I like to blog about many different subjects, chiefly history, geopolitics, crime, and art, and I enjoy rambling my pseudo-philosophical takes on life. I also write short stories. I am a massive Raymond Carver fan. I’ll post my stories here occasionally for you to read and critique.
If you need to contact me, please email me at [email protected].
