Are you looking to turn your passion for creating videos into a profitable career on YouTube?

If so, you’re not alone. YouTube has become a platform for creators to share their talents, hobbies, and expertise with a global audience.

I have personally made over $5860 from YouTube Adsense alone with less than 8000 subscribers.

YouTube can be just the platform you need to create that online business and remote lifestyle you’ve been dreaming about having for years.

It’s not easy, but it’s definitely worth it!

With the right strategies, you can turn your YouTube channel into a semi-passive source of income.

Here are five tips for making money on YouTube:

1️⃣ Create valuable content This might sound obvious, but hear me out: Create content that your audience will find valuable. This means considering what they want to watch and how you can provide it.

Ask yourself if your content is engaging, inspiring, informative, or entertaining. If none of those, why should someone watch it?

It’s also a good idea to focus on a specific niche or topic, as this will help you attract a more targeted audience and help you grow over time.

You can always expand your niche later, but I highly recommend staying laser-focused on one specific area from the beginning to help the YouTube algorithm understand what your channel is about and who to expose it to.

Also, talk about ONE topic in each video and address ONE audience. It’s easy trying to take on too much, resulting in not reaching anyone.

2️⃣ Monetize your channel Once you have a sizable audience, you can start monetizing your channel through ads, sponsorships, and merchandise. YouTube has a program called “YouTube Partner Program” which allows creators to earn money through ads that run on their videos.

In order to monetize your channel you need 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time in the last 365 days (…or 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days).

You can also work with brands to create sponsored content or sell your own merchandise through the platform.

(You can also use Stickers and Super Thanks for your audience to donate money directly to you during your videos or live streams.)

3️⃣ Promote your videos To get more views on your videos, you need to promote them effectively. Share your videos on social media, blogs, and websites to reach a wider audience.

(I usually share my videos on 13 different and relevant places. I have researched to find the best places and platforms over the years to get the best possible outcome.)

Collaborate with other creators and participate in events or online communities related to your niche. This will help you build relationships with your audience and other creators, which can both help grow your channel but also lead to more opportunities for monetization.

(By interviewing people who went before you, you can also learn a lot from that and save time on your YouTube journey and work smarter.)

4️⃣ Engage with your audience Don’t underestimate this one. Building a strong relationship with your audience is crucial for making money on YouTube. Respond to every comment, ask for feedback, and show appreciation for your subscribers.

This will help you foster a sense of community on your channel and encourage your audience to keep coming back for more.

See your viewers as individuals, not just as a number.

5️⃣ Keep learning YouTube is constantly evolving, and it’s important to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices. Really take the time to research and learn from other successful creators.

Consider investing in courses or resources that can help you improve your skills and grow your channel. If you have money, invest it in new knowledge and if you have time, invest it in creating more and better content.

(I offer YouTube Consulting for people who are interested in growing their channel but I also share a lot of free tips and advice on my different social media platforms and in my newsletter. My username is “davidlindgren89" pretty much everywhere.)

Conclusion: Making money on YouTube takes time and dedication, but it can be a rewarding career for those who are willing to put in the work.

By creating valuable content, monetizing your channel, promoting your videos, engaging with your audience, and continuing to learn and improve, you can turn your passion for creating videos into a profitable career on YouTube.

From there, you can diversify your income and complement this with brand deals, affiliate marketing, digital products, and consulting services.
