A Young Woman Was Walking When She Got Stabbed With Garden Shears

There are many parts to the large city of Los Angeles. This incident happened in North Hollywood. It should not be unsafe to simply be walking on the sidewalk of any street in the United States. It has become necessary to be vigilant in all our daily activities.

How horrific to be stabbed in the head with garden shears! This happened to a young woman as she was walking down the street.

A California woman has been left with a head injury after being stabbed with garden shears by a stranger while walking down a Los Angeles street.

The Los Angeles Police Department said in a release that on Oct. 10 at 11:30 a.m. a woman, 22, was walking down Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood when an unhoused man — who authorities identified as Jonathan Cole — walked in her direction.

“As the two passed each other, Cole, without provocation, stabbed the victim in the head with a pair of scissors. The victim, with the scissors embedded into her head, fled to a local restaurant, where she asked for help and then collapsed on the floor,” the LAPD said in its release on Oct. 14.

The suspect and the victim did not know each other. Police believe it was a random attack. The man obviously must have mental issues to commit such a heinous attack on another human being.

The “unhoused” (a nicer way to say homeless) man had gotten garden shears from somewhere. It is strange for anyone to be walking down the sidewalk anywhere carrying garden shears unless he is doing gardening work in the area. The surgeon who treated the woman described the weapon as “garden shears.”

Surveillance video showed the victim stumbling away from the man after being attacked.

The mother of the victim is a psychiatric nurse. She said: “This is a very sick person.” She said has no ill regard toward the suspect. She further said: “This is a problem that we as a society have to look at and figure out what’s next because this is just going to continue to get worse.”

She is happy, of course, that her daughter survived the attack. The victim is expected to be in the hospital for two weeks.

The suspect allegedly went to a bus stop after the attack. He asked a man and woman for a light. The woman said no so he is said to have thrown a full jar of pickles which struck the woman in the shoulder. The man chased the suspect to a local supermarket where security guards detained him until the police officers arrived.

After being arrested, he was booked for attempted murder.

It is well known that many homeless people in the United States are suffering from mental illness. Homelessness is a huge problem which needs to be addressed. Mental health issues are also a big concern.

There are people in society who may be dangerous to encounter. It should not be necessary to be afraid of strangers on the street, but people need to be careful. There are some bad or sick people out there.
