A Young Woman Stabbed Her Mother To Death

She wanted to hide the truth from her

Going to college is a goal of many young people.

Sydney Powell (a different person and different spelling than Sidney Powell who was a lawyer for Trump) was a nineteen-year-old college student in 2020. She apparently had problems with getting bad grades and was kicked out of school.

That is not something that you could hide from your parents for long, but it certainly is not a reason to kill your own mother.

A story by Michael Lee Simpson in PEOPLE was titled: “College Student Was Kicked Out of School. She Stabbed Her Mother to Death So She Wouldn’t Find Out.”

Sydney Powell, 23, was found guilty of killing Brenda Powell, 50, in March 2020, according to the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office

A jury convicted a 23-year-old former college student on Wednesday for the 2020 murder of her mother, the prosecutor’s office in Summit County, Ohio, confirms to PEOPLE.

Sydney Powell, of Akron, was found guilty of charges of murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of Brenda Powell, 50, the prosecutor’s office said in a release.

The young woman struck her mother in the head with an iron skillet before stabbing her nearly thirty times in the neck. The mother was a child life specialist at the Akron Children’s Hospital.

The daughter was diagnosed with schizophrenia by three defense experts. They said that because of the mental disorder, she did not comprehend that her actions were wrong.

A clinical psychologist for the prosecution stated that it did not add up to being schizophrenia.

Although the young woman was stated to have had mental issues, she was declared to be sane when the act was committed. She had no logical reason to kill her mother. People who do such crimes must be somewhat temporarily insane even if the court determines it was not so at the time.

She took her mother’s life needlessly and ruined her own life. She could face up to life in prison. She will be sentenced on September 28, 2023.
