A Year in Quarantine; A Year in Pictures.
A collection of personal pictures from my year in quarantine.

I’m not all that special or different. Yes, I’m Black. Yes, I’m queer. Yes, my life may appear different than yours, but we all have something in common. Whether we’ve agreed on everything that has happened over the past year, we have been mandated and instructed to stay inside, to stay home, to keep our distance.
Covid-19 hit us all differently, but it hit us all.
Below are pictures from my year in quarantine paired with small reflections. But my reflections aren’t what matter. It’s the pictures, the moments, the small intimate quarantines that we each shared, though they were worlds apart.
My partner and I spent our first year living together … in quarantine.

And we survived.

Even though the skies burned above and around us, we stayed untouched.

Baking took over a huge part of my life as a way to decompress.

I also figured being a full-time writer in quarantine was the best time to get my first pet, Wulfric.

As the seasons changed, I found beauty in the blooms.

But more often than not, I found myself saddled in front of a computer.

But still, I remembered to return to nature, to growth.

But as things progressed and parks shut down, I turned to the wild world of books, my all time loves.

At the end of the day, though, I was just grateful for everyday I lived in security with my loves.

As the year comes and goes in quarantine, vaccines are rolling out. People are beginning to feel safe again. In some ways, this is warranted. In other ways, it is going to lead to another influx in cases, in shutdowns, in prolonged quarantines. So, hold on to those in your life who bring you safe joy and be happy that quarantine finds you loved, well, and looking to the future.
