A Writer Sabotaged My Work And I Am Hurt
A hurtful experience by a writer who does not interact with me
My story on claps was sabotaged
A writer should write with the intention of goodness and never hurt another writer.
Claps mean a lot to a writer as they get intrinsic pleasure. You cannot reward a writer with monetary benefits to make him happy by cheering for him.
This is also true in the case of chefs, artists, musicians, and the community you live in. You cheer for people and they are happy. They are inspired and motivated to do their best.
Recently I wrote about it in Why I Love To Clap For Every Writer Who Writes From The Heart.
I appreciate the wonderful comments of the writers. Many of them agreed that it was true that claps do not give value to earnings but they help in making the writer cheerful.
Look at the result. Is it ethical to say that a writer who never interacted with me and also did not read the post has made comments to many people on this post promoting herself and completely overlooking my article?
I can cite easily with screenshots. I will only insert one screen shot here.

Should a writer promote his or her work?
A writer should promote their own work. There is no harm in it. In fact, it is necessary to be known by other writers.
It is important to promote oneself by writing interesting articles, and by following other writers.
The social media platform should be used to promote oneself. Everyone knows that Instagram, Facebook groups Twitter and Linkedin are the most known methods of promoting your work.
Is it justified to use comments on other people’s posts to promote yourself?
You can certainly promote yourself if you have written a similar article and want others to know about it.
Bella of Thoughtsnlifeblog did alert me and interacted with me saying that she had written something about claps.
She had read and commented on my post and I appreciated her and went to look at the posts too. You may see it too Medium Tip — Why You Should Clap More than Once — It is Good for You.
I would love to promote the writer.
We had a pleasant exchange of words.
You must be careful to see where and to whom you are writing this comment. Priyanka Priyadarshini must be a wonderful person but has never interacted with me. She did not read my post at all and neither did she comment on it.
However, she went ahead and wrote these comments on my post. Who gave her the right to do so?
Is it a feel-good moment for me? No not at all! I am quite upset and hurt about it.
According to me, it is unethical and one cannot do this to another writer.
A request to all writers
Writers please uplift other writers and build a community. Do make a tribe of your own.
With folded hands 🙏🏽I request you not to hurt others or do things that are not ethical at all.
We are here to help others always and respect the work done by other writers.
Take care and appreciate the work of writers.
As an editor and writer, I would like to alert writers to be respectful of the sentiments of fellow writers. Do not take away the space of other people. Give them room and good vibes. You will surely get back love and positive appreciation and claps from us.
Sharing good vibes with all the writers.
