Abstract

A lawsuit filed in federal court accuses Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, and his spiritual advisor Bishop Don "Magic" Juan, also known as Donald Campbell, of sexual misconduct. The plaintiff, a former dancer who remains anonymous, alleges that after a party at Snoop Dogg's studio, Campbell sexually assaulted her and later drove her back to Snoop Dogg's studio for an audition. There, she claims Snoop Dogg forced her to perform oral sex. The incident is said to have occurred in May 2013. The complaint was filed after a failed private mediation, and shortly after, Snoop Dogg posted on Instagram about the "season of the gold diggers," implying that the accusation is financially motivated. The rapper is scheduled to perform at the American football championship in Los Angeles, a highly anticipated event.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court on Wednesday, also targets Bishop Don "Magic" Juan, whose real name is Donald Campbell, and who is described as Snoop Dogg's "spiritual advisor" and whose real name is Calvin Broadus.

According to the applicant, who requested anonymity, she was a dancer at the time and sang on stage for the artist and other rappers.

After a party at Snoop Dogg's studio in May 2013, Campbell offered to take her home, but he actually drove her to his house, "exhausted, asleep."

The plaintiff accuses Campbell of sexually assaulting her in the early hours of the morning before driving her back to Snoop Dogg's studio for an audition.

Despite the context, she says she accepted "in hopes of promoting her career."

Once in the studio, she felt sick and went to the bathroom. The complaint states that Snoop Dogg took the opportunity to open the bathroom door and forced her to have oral sex. He left her there, "humiliated, terrified and panicked," according to the complaint.

On the same day that the complaint was filed, after a private mediation between the two parties failed, Snoop Dogg posted on his Instagram account that "the season of the gold diggers has begun".

The message "be careful" is accompanied by emoticons depicting a police officer, a judge, and a bag of money.

The rapper, considered one of the richest people in the US, is one of the hip-hop stars who will play on Sunday at the final of the American football championship in Los Angeles, one of the most-watched events of the year in the USA.
