A Warm musical Adios to 2021
A memorable event

If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello — Paulo Coelho (1947- ), Brazilian novelist
What can be a better way to say farewell with melody to 2021?
Years come and go. We cheerfully welcome the New Year and bid farewell to the passing year. Here is the account of the farewell to the passing year 2021 by performing an operetta at Opera house, Vienna.
The Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera) is the state opera house in Vienna, Austria. The 1700 seat Renaissance style venue was built on Ringstrasse (Ring road) from 1861 to 1869 to meet the needs of the expanding activities of the Vienna Court Operas.
The opera house was inaugurated in the presence of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth of Austria as the ‘Vienna Court Opera’ (Wiener Hofoper). After establishing the Austrian Republic in 1921, it was called the Opera house.
Ringstrasse has been called the “Lord of the Ring Roads” because of its architectural beauty and history. UNESCO has designated it as part of Vienna’s World Heritage Site.
On March 12th 1945, during the WW2 bombing, the building was destroyed to a large extent. The building was restored to its original splendour between 1948 and 1955.
It’s one of the top opera houses in the world and one of the most popular touristic places in Vienna. There are many opera houses in Vienna.
The famous stage puts on a different programme every day including operas, operettas and ballets.
Every year on 31st Dec., by tradition “Die Fledermaus operetta” composed by Johann Strauss II is performed.
This time too on 31st Dec 2021, Viennese bid farewell to 2021 with the warmth of the melody. Videos and details of the story are available on the internet.
Life is a string of events.
A warm, musical adios to the parting year 2021 was another memorable event to cherish.
